lex is the Founder of Jacobson Mediation Group, a practice dedicated exclusively to mediating matrimonial and family law matters. Prior to launching the practice, Alex was a partner at one of the premier family law firms in Chicago focusing her practice on the negotiation and preparation of marital settlement agreements, asset valuations, child custody matters, and pre-marital and post-marital agreements for high net worth individuals.
Alex was known for helping her clients—both men and women—achieve the best possible resolutions, even in the most high-conflict situations, as a result of her command of the law, commitment to her client’s priorities, and creative problem-solving abilities.
Given her extensive professional and personal experience addressing matrimonial and family law matters, Alex pivoted her career and launched Jacobson Mediation Group.
Alex joined the Board of Friends of Prentice in 2010 after her twin boys, Eli Ryan and Shiloh Reese, passed away after being born prematurely and living for 5 days in the NICU. She initially joined the board to show her appreciation for the teams at Prentice. Nearly ten years later, Alex remains committed to the mission of Friends of Prentice because of their commitment to research aimed at benefiting the lives of women and infants and to honor the memory of her boys.
Alex can often be found on a basketball court or baseball diamond with her sporty eight year old son, Parker.
